Join the Friends of Gold Butte as Rayette Martin tells how you can help preserve archaeology in Nevada!
If you visit archaeological sites like mines, ghost towns, petroglyphs, and rock shelters, you can help protect them as a citizen steward or an OHV Preservation Ambassador. This presentation will cover the types of cultural sites found in Nevada, the laws that protect them, how you can participate in preservation efforts, and the results of volunteer efforts.
Rayette Martin M.A. is a public archaeologist with over 16 years of experience exploring the Nevada outdoors. She has a combined 20 years of supervisory and volunteer management experience and enjoys working with the public. Her specialties include public engagement and education, writing for the general public, graphic design, and graffiti mitigation at rock writing sites.
