Early this December we will be hosting our 4th Annual Friends of Gold Butte Auction. We are already accepting and gathering donations for the auction; there will be lots of handcrafted art, beautiful prints from Gold Butte, gift certificates, wine baskets, outdoor adventures, and lots more. If you have a special item that you would like to donate to the auction, or know a business that could donate an item or activity that you can solicit we would welcome the help. Just drop us a line at: operations@friendsofgoldbutte.org.
Like last year, we will open the online auction on November 18th and will close it the evening of the in-person celebration (date and time TBA). We hope to make this the largest auction yet and exciting for both donors and bidders. This is a key way that you can help to support Friends of Gold Butte, helping to fund our events and stewardship projects in Gold Butte throughout the year. Lots of hands each doing a little bit can achieve wonderous things!
One note from last year’s auction, we were able to fund the purchase of an A.E.D. which we hopefully will never need to use but, may prove to save a life in the case of an emergency. In addition, we presently have one Garmin In-Reach device and would like to purchase another one for our hike leaders to carry while out in the monument. The second device will help us keep you safer when we have volunteers leading hikes on the same day, but to different places. The second In-Reach device and the subscription service for both devices will be an auction item, just like the A.E.D. was last year. So, if you don’t necessarily need any of the items in the auction, consider supporting this worthwhile piece, because you never know when it will be needed.
Hi Brenda, this is James Cape. We met in late April during our several visits to GB. We will be in Las Vegas for the entire month January and will definitely want to a visit again. I am excited to bid on the auction items just as soon as the online auction site is open.
Thanks James! Look forward to seeing you. I’ll let Brenda know. ~Terri
