Our Story

Since 2003, Friends of Gold Butte has worked to achieve a permanent protected status for Gold Butte. Our work helped achieve a National Monument designation for Gold Butte on December 28, 2016.

Gold Butte is a beautiful treasure. We want to conserve this landscape in balance with its many users. We promote responsible use and preservation of this amazing place so that future generations can explore and enjoy its wonders. We hope you will join us and support our stewardship and advocacy for Gold Butte National Monument.

We can use your help whether it’s for a few minutes or a few hours. Can you work the table at an event? Write a letter to the editor? Help with a trash pickup in Gold Butte? Be a greeter at our education series? We are always looking for helping hands. There are things everyone can help us with!

Talents

We can always use your skills and talents! Do you have a background in finance or marketing? What about government or science? Are you an expert hike leader or have something interesting to share with our members at our education series? We need you!
