Friends of Gold Butte is once again offering a Wilderness First Aid class, January 8th and 9th. This time it is open to any and all who are interested in taking the course as we have gotten all of our hike leaders certified. Charyn McDonnell, a Red Cross certified Wilderness First Aid Instructor, will teach the class.
The cost of the class is $150 per person and the certification is good for two years. The prerequisite for taking the class are: proof of you taking a Standard First Aid course ( it does not have to be current) and a current CPR class. Both of those classes can be taken online.
Friends of Gold Butte is sponsoring the class and we will do most of our instruction at the Friends of Gold Butte office at 12 W Mesquite Blvd #106, Mesquite, Nevada from 8 to 5 both days with Sunday doing the last assessments out in the field somewhere near Mesquite. We had a waiting list last time, so sign up as soon as possible with a $30.00 deposit to hold your spot. Questions, contact Charyn McDonnell at flowguide@gmail.com and put WFA in the subject.
You must attend in person. We will practice social distancing, and masks must be worn. You will need to bring your own PPE, lunch, snacks and plenty of water. We will break for lunch approximately mid-way through each day.
Please provide a phone number when registering so we can contact you with additional information or in case of schedule changes.
