It’s been a long hot summer, and an even longer year, but we are ready to get back outdoors and enjoy time in the wide open spaces! Join the Friends of Gold Butte as we kick off the 2020 season with a do-good, feel-good day cleaning up our own beautiful Gold Butte National Monument!
As with nearly everything else, National Public Lands Day is going to look different this year. Rather than having a large group of people work in close proximity to one another, we will spread out and do a trash clean-up over a larger area.
The Bureau of Land Management will host this event, and their staff will conduct a training via video conference the evening before, on Friday September 25 at 7:00 PM. It will be a short training, but it is mandatory if you plan on attending NPLD. When you register for this event, you will be sent the link for the video conference.
As per BLM policies, there will be forms to fill out, but those will be emailed to you also, so you can print and complete them at home, thus expediting everything on the morning of the event. There will be social distancing protocols in place during the day for everyone’s safety. We will provide gloves, buckets and trash bags as always.
Please bring your own PPE, a sack lunch and plenty of water. Please wear closed-toed shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen and a hat.
Attendees will receive a one-day National Park pass, snacks and a commemorative T-shirt so please register and join us to do something good for Gold Butte!
