Join Charyn McDonnell and the Friends of Gold Butte as we hike to Little Finland via Mud Wash Corral. This is a short, 1/3-mile jaunt over the hills that adds a bit of interest to the Little Finland adventure, where you will be free to wander about and explore.
Little Finland itself is a magical area, full of petroglyphs, sandstone gnomes, fanciful shapes, and more monsters. It is a favorite of many hikers, and most definitely camera-worthy so be sure and bring yours.
As with all our hikes, please practice Leave No Trace principles, and be prepared to pack out everything you pack in. Please bring plenty of water and lunch/snacks for yourself, along with hand sanitizer, sunscreen, closed toed shoes and a hat. You may find that hiking poles are helpful. Dress appropriately for the weather, layers are best. Please practice social distancing and wear a face covering when in close proximity of others. You will need a high clearance vehicle, and 4WD is preferred.
Please, if you register and then are unable to attend, let us know by removing yourself from this Meetup in time to let others on the waitlist join in. If you are unable to do so, please message or call one of the organizers. Please also understand that due to Covid 19, we are unable to offer carpooling at this time. We understand that this is an inconvenience, but for liability reasons we cannot allow attendees to carpool from the Meetup.
