Hiking in the wilderness can bring a sense of peace, adventure and fulfillment, but it can also be dangerous. Even when help is a short distance away, it can seem like it takes forever if someone is ill or injured. Join us for some helpful suggestions in regards to wilderness trauma while out in Gold Butte National Monument. Charyn McDonnell will also demonstrate Hands Only CPR that anyone can practice at home. Our hike leaders are certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, but its good to have a few tools in your toolbox venturing an hour or more from definitive care. Though not a WFA course, which requires 16 hours of class, this presentation will focus on some of the more common issues in Gold Butte National Monument. By the way, Charyn is our Wilderness First Aid/CPR instructor and an avid member of Friends of Gold Butte.
