Bet you don’t cruise the roads and trails in Gold Butte National Monument looking for fish and frogs, do you? There are several native fish species that inhabit the Virgin and Muddy Rivers, such as the Moapa Dace, which is found nowhere else in the world. Although not as common as scorpions and lizards, rare species such as the Relict Leopard Frog can be found in Eastern Clark County in riparian desert habitats.
Join us as Kevin Guadalupe shares the results of his research on local fish species and amphibians, including the Relict Leopard Frog. Kevin is a Native Fish and Amphibian Biologist for the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and has recently surveyed the fish population in the Virgin River.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, program will begin at 7:00 pm. Free and open to the public, although donations are always appreciated.
