Assembly Joint Resolution 13 Expressing Support for Gold Butte National Monument and Basin and Range National Monument to be Heard Today
LAS VEGAS – Today just days after President Trump announced a “review” of Gold Butte National Monument, Basin and Range National Monument, and the Antiquities Act; the Nevada Senate Natural Resources Committee will hear Assembly Joint Resolution 13 (AJR13), which expresses support for these two national monuments. The State Senate hearing is on AJR13 will be taking place on the same day as the House Subcommittee on Federal Lands attacking the Antiquities Act.

Both Gold Butte and Basin and Range National Monuments are incredibly popular in Nevada; they protect local and cultural heritage; were the result of years of public input; and are good for Nevada’s economy. Overall, public lands generate drive $887 billion in consumer spending annually and outdoor recreation which supports 7.6 million American jobs.
