Sahara West Library Art Gallery in Las Vegas will host MONUMENTS, an exhibition on Nevada’s three national monuments, April 27 to June 23, 2018. Gold Butte National Monument will be prominently featured in the exhibition.
The Friends of Gold Butte have been invited to provide three pieces for the exhibition. As such, we are seeking submissions for a juried art competition. The top three entries will be displayed in the MONUMENTS exhibition. Prizes are available for the top three entries.
Juried art competition submission guidelines:
- We are accepting a variety of media including: photographs, paintings, textiles, video art, and installations/sculptures.
- Photographs and paintings shall not exceed 11 in. x 14 in.
- Sculpture installations will be displayed in enclosed cases on the floor of the gallery. Art pieces shall not exceed 18 in. x 18 in. x 18 in.
- Art must be inspired by Gold Butte National Monument and the description must explain how Gold Butte inspired its creation.
- A short paragraph on why Gold Butte holds a special place for you.

Call For Photos:
In addition to our juried competition, the exhibition will feature a Gold Butte photo wall. We are seeking contributions of 8” x 10” photographs. We will select the top 25 photos for display on the photo wall.
- Photographs must be taken in or from Gold Butte National Monument.
- Photo submissions must measure 8 in. x 10 in.

Artists are invited to submit one entry each for the juried competition and the photo wall. To submit, complete the online application by 12:59 p.m. on March 31, 2018. Winners of the competition will be announced on Monday, April 9. Final art is due Friday, April 20, 2018.
