National Public Lands Day 2018- Seedling Planting + Sign Installation
September 22 @ 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
National Public Lands Day is a once a year event where volunteers come out and steward their favorite public lands.
This year Friends of Gold Butte is partnering with both the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Division of Wildlife. One group of volunteers will be planting Joshua trees in the area Northwest of the Gold Butte Townsite that was burnt in the wildfires of 2005. The other group will be installing new directional signs at various points along the Gold Butte Backcounty Byway.
We would really love to have you come out and volunteer with us. It is amazing to see how much we can accomplish each year at theses events and the lasting impact our work has had on the monument. I hope that you will be able to join us.
Bring long pants and long sleeves and closed toe shoes. Prepare for the heat, so also bring 4 liters of water and suncreen. Friends of Gold Butte will provide breakfast, but we recommend you bring a lunch. If you don’t have a 4×4 capable vehicle, then let us know and we will get you a spot in one of our pickups.
Email email@example.com if you have any questions, and Justin will answer them.
