History in Gold Butte
National Park Service Interpretive Ranger, Milton Hokanson will speak at the Friends of Gold Butte, “Education Series” on September 18, 2013. Mr. Hokanson has a special gift of recalling historical facts and tidbits and weaving them into a session of fascinating story telling. Mr. Hokanson will be presenting tidbits of history on the colorful historical characters that roamed the area generally referred to as Gold Butte. At a moments notice Hokanson can delve into such historical and colorful people as Bill Garrett, one of the men buried at Gold Butte town site. This informal presentation is sure to prove to be fascinating to history buffs and locals who love Gold Butte.
All presentations are in the Mesquite Community Theater. Doors open at 6:30pm for social time and presentation starts promptly at 7:00pm. Presentations are free but donations are gladly accepted to help offset the cost of the theater and speakers.
