Hello Friends!
We’re starting 2011 off with a bang. Friends of Gold Butte has a brand new, very active Board of Directors. These are folks you likely already know:
- Tony Barron
- Tom Cluff
- Roger Di Rosa
- Ken Elliott
- Terri Rylander
We’ve got lots planned but have already made some significant progress in ways that will help you connect with Gold Butte and join forces to protect her through education, advocacy, and restoration. We have some fun hikes, looky-loos, and general exploring trips planned, too.
New Website!
Check out our new website—and, be sure to bookmark it. You’ll find great information as well as some beautiful pictures. Connect through our RSS feed to stay current with new posts from our blog. You’ll find the link in the sidebar to the right in the Follow Us! section.
If you’re into Facebook, we’re there too. We’ll keep things light with updates on events, cool links, photos, and some occasional news. The best part is, you can post things too! You’ll just need your own Facebook account. Go take a look:

If Twitter is your thing, take us along. We’ll update you with things going on in Gold Butte, but in Nevada and surrounding areas as well. We’ll also include updates about other “Friends” groups, national parks, conservation groups, and additional, relevant topics. Follow us here:

Meetup
Finally, we’ve started our very own Meetup group. If you’re not familiar with that, it’s an online system for managing events. We have a calendar of events there that will provide a description, date, and time. If you see something you like, just RSVP! You’ll get the option to add it to your personal calendar and receive reminders a few days ahead. Be sure to join our Meetup group so you will be first to be notified of upcoming events. Join here:

We’re planning to ramp up some Friends of Gold Butte committees. If you have skills you think would be helpful (yes—free time is a skill too!), be sure to let me know.
Looking forward to a VERY productive 2011. See you soon!
