One of the things we enjoy most is bringing folks out to Gold Butte and watching the wonder as they see how beautiful the area is and learn about its historical, cultural, and biological resources. We try to schedule outings several times per month. They range from easy walks to more difficult scrambles.

We also host monthly educational presentations for free at the Mesquite Community Theater. These include presentations on desert animals, desert plants, history of the region, and geology, among others. Check the calendar below

We use a site called Meetup to manage our events and track RSVPs. It’s a great site but you will need to create a user profile to join it. Doing so, you will receive email notifications letting you know when new outings and events are scheduled.

Hike with Us

Want to explore the many wonders of Gold Butte. Join us for a hike! Join our MeetUp page and be the first to know when our events are scheduled. We have wrapped up our hikes for the year but we will be exploring new and unique places after the new year. Please check back in mid-December for our spring hike schedule.

All of our hikes are free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated. We want to provide transportation for everyone, but you are welcome to drive yourself if you have a high clearance vehicle. If you want to drive and are willing to accommodate a few passengers, then please email If not, that’s fine, just please bring gas money for your driver.
