Gold Butte and the surrounding area have been home to several different groups of indigenous people over the past 8000 years. These cultures have left their mark on the area in the form of petroglyphs and other scattered remnants of their way of life. Modern researchers can only hope to piece together a complete record of these nomadic tribes as they made their way through the ruggedly beautiful terrain. Join us as we present “Early Civilizations along the Virgin River and Gold Butte Region.” Mary Beth Timm, an archaeologist and curator of the Lost City Museum in Overton, NV will share her knowledge with us in what is sure to be a fascinating presentation.
